I've updated the ScriptedMonster properties to reflect the changes made in the latest version. (v0.993b) Also, Pupae and Fly note changes.
EDIT: Oops. I guess it's also useful to list the basic Orders available to the ScriptedMonsters. (Waiting, Patroling, Guarding and Ambushing) ![]()

ScriptedCharacter added to the list at the top of the thread.
I've magically added the Monster entry post after Warlord and before ScriptedMonster Basics. ![]() See all the cool stuff that ScriptedCharacters can do on the OSMT Development thread. One very cool thing they can do in OSM maps is represent the Player's chosen Character during cutscenes. So that no matter who they normally play as, that Character will be available during the intro. Just place in the map and give it the Tag "IntroCutScenePawn". ![]()

List of Animation names?
I'm currently studying Level Design (yes, it's an education) and we are using OSM for creating a Single Player mission. We tried SP Framework, but that didn't have as good support for scripted sequences (Monsterize for example).
To the point. I have some AI Scripts going about and have decided to use the Krall model for this. Why? Well, I never got the mesh and skin work very well with OSM Actors when they once became monsterized. I need to use some animation sets at certain points (using PlayAnim). I know three of Krall (sleep1, sleep2 and sleep3), but there must be more? I have Googled for it, but found nothing. Is there a list of animations for Krall (or SmartKrall) somewhere? Would be very grateful for all help! |

If you've got Unreal1, you can open up the editor, look in the anims browser, and look at all the original animations from the Unreal1 monsters.
(bear in mind that OSM by default uses the Invasion Monsters, and Epic just used the old Unreal monsters for Invasion). I know it must be possible to view the anims through the UT2004 Ed, but I've never found the correct package to open up, so personally for convenience, I always use Unreal1's Ed.

Can't someone nice take a screenshot of the animation names of the Krall and post it here? Please? I will buy Unreal 1 one of these days (isn't listed on game sites anymore..), if possible... The animation names would be of great help to me! I promise to post the level here when it's finished! G'night. |

Infinate Script Error

![]() Here you go matie - please do bear in mind though, that Epic in their infinite wisdom didn't quite include all these anims in UT2K4. So if you try one and it doesn't work, then they probably just didn't include that one. I know it sounds a bit odd, I've tried to use some of these anims in scripted sequences & found they didn't do anything - but since Epic thought that the monsters would only be used for invasion, and not a full single-player game, I can kinda forgive them (but only kinda.. ).I mean, if all you're doing is fighting waves & waves in an invasion game, they probably didn't think we'd need some of the more obscure ones.. ![]() Ooh, btw, sorry I meant UT99's Editor, not Unreal1. I've got Unreal, but just not installed atm, since UT99 can run Unreal1 maps just as well. The cool thing about UT99 is that it included all the original content from unreal plus that from UT, bar the actual levels themselves, so that's anims, textures, sounds, etc.. It's quite handy to have around if you're doing anything set in the Unreal setting. Ps: OutPt's right, as long as you install it in a different folder then having both games installed won't make any difference to either. At one point I had Unreal1, Unreal2, UT99, UT2003, and 2K4-demo all installed on the same machine, and they all worked fine. ![]()

Hi folks.
Sorry, this thread is really meant to be the place where I describe OSMT Creatures, their default properties and behaviors. For *help* on implementing OSMT creatures, start your own thread or PM me, please. ![]() To answer your question: You do *not* need Unreal 1 to see the available animations for the various creatures used in OSMT. (In fact, some of those animations are *not* available in UT2004) These are "old skool"-style vertex mesh animations (as opposed to skeletal animations) and are available in the Mesh Brower. The Mesh Browser is brought up in UnrealEd (for UT2004) like this: 1) Open a fresh UnrealEd (it just solves a bug in the browser display) 2) Hit the button on the toolbar with the Eye on it (see the pic below) 3) Find the creature you're interested in and browse the animation list 4) You can play or scroll through the animations to see how they look (The Mesh Browser display bug rears it head when you try to view these Vertex Mesh Animations while a Vertex Mesh is in the map space. Nothing displays. Although the list of available animations is still there, you can't see the mesh. Again to fix, simply open a fresh UnrealEd first.)No need to reply to this thread again. In fact, please don't. PM me or start a new thread if you would like to continue the discussion. Thank you. ![]() EDIT: I will post this problem and solution on OSMT Monster Problems & Solutions, but again, PM me or start a new thread to continue the discussion or talk about something new. Thanks.
